A Little About Katie. . .
Katie discovered the healing power of yoga when she was in high school, and has been a devoted practitioner ever since. She did her first teacher training with Maty Ezraty and Lisa Walford at Yogaworks in Los Angeles in 2004. Other primary teachers of Katie’s include Seane Corn, Annie Carpenter, and Stephanie Snyder. The bulk of her yoga background is in Vinyasa flow and Ashtanga yoga, although she continues to explore many styles of yoga, all of which influence her teaching. These include Anusara and Shadow yoga. Katie’s classes are open to students of all experience levels, and are challenging but playful, as she encourages students to listen to their bodies and find their own unique expressions of the practice. Her classes also draw on her passions for yoga philosophy, music, social justice, and Humanistic and Jungian psychology. In addition to teaching yoga, Katie is a musician, and has also recently begun studying Kirtan. Katie strives to empower people to find and manifest purpose and meaning in their lives in the ways best for them.
